Title: How I Lost You
Author: Jenny Blackhurst
Page Count: 368
They told her she killed her son.
She served her time.
But what if they lied?
It was written in a clear way but something about the writing just didn’t seem to work for me, I think it was a little bit too descriptive and it just didn’t seem to captivate me the way I wanted it to.
I loved the idea of the story and I really wanted to love this book but it just didn’t do it for me. I thought the plot had more holes than a colander and I found the main character to be very annoying and inconsistent. I found her feelings towards ‘Nick’ to be inappropriate and unrealistic considering the circumstances. I also found the ‘Cassie’ character to be pointless as she didn’t add any value to the story and was often left at home like the author had forgotten about her.
Overall I didn’t like this book nearly as much as I hoped I would and I found that i was forcing myself to finish it rather than not being about to put it down.
