Bras. They’re a bloody expensive thing. That’s why I’ve done a bit of digging around in this wonderful place called the internet to find out the best ways to look after your bras so that they’ll last longer and you won’t have to keep forking out for a new one so often. This is what I’ve found so far but if you know of any other tips, please do share them with me!
Obviously you need to be careful when washing your bras but what’s the best way to do it?
Well, according to good ol’ Martha Stewart (The goddess of all things home!), you should be washing them by hand in lukewarm water with a little bit of delicate washing powder in it. Just swish the bra around the water and rub it gently then gently press on it (don’t ring it!!) to get the excess water out and lay flat to dry.
You should NEVER hand your bras up by their straps, fold 1 cup into the other or squish them under heavy items. The best way to store your bras is to lay them flat with the band’s done up to keep their shape in tact.
To keep your bras in the best shape possible, try not to wear the same one 2 days in a row to give the elastic a chance to regain its strength. Obviously, the more bras you have the bigger a rotation you have and you won’t need to wash them as often. I would personally recommend washing your bras every 3-4 wears or more if you’re doing something that makes you sweaty (like working out).
Please let me know if you have any other tips because I’d find it very useful to know!
